Uber Trees
by Michael Cameron
Sequoia National Park is an American national park in the southern Sierra Nevada east of Visalia, California. The park contains the highest point in the contiguous United States, Mount Whitney, at 14,505 feet (4,421 m) above sea level. It is notable for its giant sequoia trees, including the General Sherman tree, the largest tree on Earth.
As part of our 25th Wedding Aniversary we hired an RV, but before we picked it up, we drove by car firstly to Santa Cruz, and then on to Sequoia. Boy was the drive worth it, the scenery was outstanding, and the guide was very friendly and informative.
At one point on our tour we were visited by a deer. The deer was chased away, it was looking for food, and we were advised not too oblige, as they can be quite dangerous if they get too 'friendly' with humans. Sadly no thimbles - the information centre had run out!
