The Travelling Celts

Everything is to the left

by Michael Cameron

The Pacific Coast Highway is well known as one of the most scenic drives in the world. Starting from California’s San Diego right up to it's northern border with Oregon. Over 700 miles of stunning coastal views and seaside villages,

We joined just north of Los Angeles, having driven from the Grand Canyon, via Phoenix - it was good to see the sea again. We stopped just as we reached San Francisco

Some interesting mansions on the way, including Hearst Castle where we stopped for lunch, the castle, alas, wasn't to my taste. We gave ourselves plenty of time for stops to take in the unfolding scenery. Dinner at a cliff edge restaurant was particularly memorable. The first couple of photos were taken at the General Patton Memorial Museum on the interstate 10.
