A Jolly to Dublin

by Michael Cameron

Dublin, capital of the Republic of Ireland, is on Ireland’s east coast at the mouth of the River Liffey. Its historic buildings include Dublin Castle, dating to the 13th century, and imposing St Patrick’s Cathedral, founded in 1191. City parks include St Stephen’s Green and Phoenix Park, containing Dublin Zoo.

Guinness Storehouse, has become Ireland's No. 1 visitor attraction. Housed in an old fermentation plant in the heart of St James's Gate Brewery, the seven-storey visitor experience tells the story of Ireland's iconic drink and brings to life the heritage of this famous beer. The Gravity Bar is Dublin's highest bar where a pint of Guiness can be enjoyed with views of Dublin.

We took a day trip to Dublin, as part of our trip to mostly Nothern Ireland with friends Heather and Colin. Part of Denise's never ending 50th birthday celebration.

A trip around the Guiness Storehouse a must, and then we enjoyed the hop on hop off tour bus, before having a meal in a local pub before heading back north.
